Epilogue: A Ray of Sunshine🌦

June 5, 2019

Some super cool bloggers nominated me for Sunshine awards. It’s an honor. Thank you. I’ve enjoyed getting to you know you all more as we’ve shared our posts and thoughts and laughs. Hmmm…writing an acceptance speech is different….not something I’m used to…and I’ve been rather teary-eyed lately. (O menopause take me, I’m waiting!)

Teary in a good way. After the pain, the relief. And what a relief!

Why did I start blogging?

Well, it was clear to me back-up singer for Motley Crue wasn’t going to happen. (Although that is still a fantasy). There was a splinter in my thumb that needed to come out…and the caterpillar compelled me. Ok, ok…I started blogging because I was a total mess and needed a place to put my life in order; to give purpose to the suffering I experienced growing up, and make it art. Art needs sharing lest it becomes stagnant.

Thanks to all the WordPress team for making this platform available! Besides a few minor annoyances—it’s super cool and you all do a great job!

How do I want to be remembered when I die?

“A ray of sunshine”

On a dark and stormy day;

After the storms pass. Thanks for this, Rachel!

But more likely I will be remembered as the one who didn’t follow rules so well…

Three books that every man should read?

The Art of Seduction by Robert Green

Dante’s Divine Comedy

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is multi—goes with everything.

This is where it gets interesting. This is a list of awesome bloggers in no particular order who have either nominated me—or I would like to nominate. There is over lap. And I know I’ve forgotten some–sorry it’s not intentional–please add your name to the list! Check them out—each has something unique to offer. And if you would like to participate–I ask you the same questions.

Well folks, summer break is here and I’m ready to dive into Dante. Take care and be well! See you soon…

With love and gratitude,

NZain 🙂

      2. Woohoo! Palm trees and cartwheels!!! Love it! Yes, we will be out of internet range—but I plan to have my camera with me and muddy knees…
I look forward to reconnecting with you and Muffin and sharing “what I did on my summer vacation”. Did you have to write those papers in school? Uhhhgg—back then it nearly killed me. Haha! Have a great time where ever you are….🙏🏻🥰🥳🌦🧚‍♀️👩‍🌾🌻🙃❤️

      3. Thanks so much Nina! Hope you will have a wonderful summer! Just think of all the poems you will miss.😂Yep, I remember having to write those papers at school, it was okay some summers, but sometimes we didn’t go anywhere, then what to write? All I can say right now is there will be palm trees and nice and warm! And a place I have never been before which is an added bonus. Guess we will both have stories to share, though I might save mine for a winter series just so I don’t always have to talk about cold and snow! Enjoy!😁🌞🌴📷🥳And I get to celebrate my birthday there too!🎈😎🥳

      5. Yes, leaving Muffin was a hard decision but at least she really likes her kitty sitter, so that made things a bit easier. I might have to watch my feet when I come home though!😂😹Thanks for the birthday wishes!😃

    1. 🥰 yeah! I loved all the children’s songs we learned “this little light of mine…”. It’s good to know you as well Renee. My heart is full of gratitude for all the super cool people I’ve met here and all exchanges of ideas. I’m ready to let this go now…but I’ll be back…🙏🏻💞😊🌦 with love and more gratitude, Nina.

      1. I’ve met and continue to meet some very wonderful people here! And the writing part is cool, too! A breath of fresh air from Facebook. Way different! I got in it a little yesterday and the first post I saw was so horribly negative! I just can’t deal with it right now not! Hope your summer vacation is memorable and makes you happy! 🤗

      2. Yes! Agreed.
I feel for those who are negative. A horrible state of mind. More negativity won’t help. Ah well. Other places to direct our attention.
Thank you for the well wishes. Yeah. A little holiday to re-inspire…
I look forward to reconnecting with you soon, Renee!😊💞

    1. It is totally worth the read! Given to me by my male friend at just the right moment—life changing.
Thanks Mr. A for all your support, insights and conversation. I’ve enjoyed all of it! And as for your blog—I just want to see you becoming and sharing exactly who you already are—a true gentleman! Keep up the great work and I will see you when I return from summer holiday.
With love and gratitude, Nina 🙂

  2. Well, you are a ray of sunshine. And I love your use of poetry as an art to express yourself. You’re an inspiration!! Thanks for the nomination, you know the chance of me actually taking up the challenge is kinda small but it doesn’t mean I love you less, I just never know what to say to the questions!!

    1. I totally understand—and I love the honesty! It’s funny, we can write all day long, but then it comes to answering questions—and I sit and stare, blank. Type, delete, type, delete more….and I stress more—cause I don’t want to leave anyone out! Ahhh…..and I’m not so good at following rules….but I do like these questions. Thoughtful. 💞 thank you, Rachel for all the encouragement and inspiration…I’ll be back soon. With love and gratitude, your friend Nina a.k.a Ray 🙂

  3. don’t know whether my comment will appear… if it does, I will have to write another one with more detail … discouraged writing this… thanks for having me in mind

  4. Thanks a lot NZain for this! I’ve been reading that you’ll leaving for a while…what? When? How? I’m confused 😂 What’s happening, exactly?

Anyways, congrats. I’m not sure I spread positivity but you sure do, particularly from the smiles that I get when reading your posts 😊

P.s.am I the only one the sings “You’re my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy…” when reading these posts? 😂😂😂

      1. Yay! It worked 😍
This is exactly how I want to be remembered 🕊🌦🙃.
I’m giggling cause I’ve been singing away like a four year old while doing my chores….

    1. 🥰 haha! I think we probably sing this and in the little kid voice—only no one admits it.

You are most welcome—and yes, death rebirth—the caterpillar has to die for the butterfly to emerge. I started out on this project to tell my story of childhood emotional abuse. Done. Now, it’s time to move on to something new. So, we are taking a summer holiday.

But, don’t worry—God willing, I’ll be back. And we will share some more smiles and laughs. I’m glad these posts make you smile! Smiling is beautiful.

You aren’t sure you spread positivity? Hmmm. Doubting? Is it negativity you spread? Then answer the questions (if you like) and let me know if you are still unsure.

Keep writing, Nour Lee and I will too. See you soon…
With love and gratitude, Nina 💞🌻
