What do you see when you close your eyes?
I asked the Shaman, “show me Hell.”
I was taken to a room the color of mold…
No windows.
A steady-drip-drip
Of water fell from a hole; I couldn’t see
Any way out.
I asked the Shaman, “now please show me Heaven.”
And–in an instant–I was in my own backyard.

Thank you, Sir for encouraging me to think.

How beautiful!!! To be in heaven in your own backyard, is pure happiness, heaven that is within your reach. Love the picture, you look so peaceful! And how you have written this is masterful.

Aw, thanks for the shout out and I enjoyed the conversation, too π It’s true, we oft times search for heaven only to discover we’ve had it all along. Well said π

You are most welcome. Yes, heaven and hell right there all alongβhow will we choose to focus our attention? What do we want to see? π

That’s true though. We can make hell and heaven on earth. It just depends on the effort we put in.
Also, perspective plays a huge role… maybe if everyone was accepting the earth would be another version of heaven…

Wouldnβt that be nice? Yes, our efforts and our perspective. That was my thought too. I could sit in Hell and do nothing-or I could be in my backyardβwhich takes a ton of workβand create heaven. My choice. Thanks for visiting π

The effort part is hard. But all good things require sacrifice.
